Charles Lwanga College of Education (CoE) was founded in 1959 by the Roman Catholics – the Society of Jesus (Jesuit) order. It is located 30km south-east of Monze Town, within Chikuni Jesuit Mission in Southern Province.

Charles Lwanga CoE offers a Primary Teacher’s Diploma (3 years), a Bachelor of Education (Primary, 4 years), and a Junior Secondary School Teacher’s Diploma (in Computer Studies and Mathematics, 3 years). The programmes are offered through full-time and distance learning modes.
