In this section you will look in more detail at the active learning approaches that are used throughout the training programme.

Quality, inclusive education involves teachers using a range of teaching strategies that are active and engaging so that all learners participate and are included.

It is therefore vital that all teachers learn how to use active learning strategies. They should learn this through the training they receive and by observing how their colleagues teach and train.

Training programmes for teachers must always demonstrate active learning. Trainers must practise what they preach. In this section we will look first at what active learning is. Then we will look at how the Zambia training programme has embedded active learning throughout the whole training approach.
